Canvas Care Instructions
You have purchased a high quality Giclee canvas, it is important that care is given
when cleaning this product. The Giclee was printed using Epson’s Ultrachrome Archival Inks
and canvas produced by Breathing Color. Giclee coatings, otherwise known as canvas varnish
or post-print coatings, serve to protect, preserve and enhance fine art and photographic prints
produced on digital inkjet printers.
Canvas varnish protects and preserves the giclee prints by inhibiting harmful Ultraviolet light
from burning out optical brightener additives and other fluorescent whitening additives,
which inhibits the inkjet canvas and/or fine art paper from "yellowing". Canvas varnish also
protects against moisture and abrasion.
Do not rub or use abrasive products to clean this product.
If you penetrate the coating you will damage the print. Feather dusters can be used as well
as lightly wetted non-abrasive cloths with mild soap. On gallery wrapped products you will
find the printed image wraps onto the back, use this area as a test area for cleaning.
In addition, keep this product as well as all artwork out of direct sunlight as it
will accelerate fading and damage the product.
Care Instructions - Photo and Cotton Papers
Artwork must be kept from direct or harsh indirect sunlight regardless of whether it was
printed on cotton or pulp based paper. In addition, high humidity will warp any paper
over a period of time, as a sheet of paper absorbs moisture it grows in size, anything
which restricts this growth will be reflected in ripples, known as cockling.
